Highlights
Nexus now supports group chats inside shared workspaces, enabling teams and partners to collaborate with AI agents and automate complex multi-agent workflows in real time.
AI agents can now combine internal data with live internet results through a new web search tool powered by the Brave Search API.
A major infrastructure upgrade includes new enterprise database connectors, improved streaming architecture, and a full migration to Google Cloud Platform.
We are excited to release a major update to Nexus that brings new collaboration features, improved AI capabilities and a stronger technical foundation. This update introduces group chats for shared workspaces, a new web search tool, expanded database connectors and a full infrastructure migration to GCP.
Group Chat for Workspaces
Nexus now supports group chats inside shared workspaces.
Users can create a group chat and invite multiple workspace members, even if they belong to different organizations. This makes it possible for teams and partners to collaborate in a single conversation while interacting with AI agents at the same time.
Inside a group chat, users can work together with multiple AI agents simultaneously. Agents can also invoke other agents to complete complex tasks without human intervention. This allows chains of work to be executed automatically while the conversation continues between team members.
New Web Search Tool
Nexus now includes a web search tool that allows AI agents to retrieve information from the internet. The tool uses the Brave Web Search API and can easily be enabled by adding a Brave API key to your configuration. Brave provides a free API tier, making it low-barrier to get started.
Once enabled, your AI agents can combine web search results with your internal data sources, allowing them to answer questions with both internal and external knowledge.
New Connectors and Improved Query Engine
We have reworked large parts of the Nexus query engine backend to improve stability and performance in demanding environments.
This update introduces new database connectors including AlloyDB and Microsoft SQL Server. These connectors allow Nexus to integrate with more enterprise data sources out of the box.
Alongside the new connectors, the streaming service responsible for delivering results has been significantly improved. The new architecture provides more stable streaming and better performance when handling large queries or long running AI workflows.
Migration to Google Cloud
Nexus infrastructure has been fully migrated from AWS to Google Cloud Platform.
This move allows us to take advantage of improved reliability, better integration with data services and a stronger foundation for future scaling. Combined with the new streaming architecture, Nexus is now better equipped to handle high workload environments.
This migration is also an important step toward our upcoming listing on Google Cloud Marketplace, which will make it easier for enterprises to deploy Nexus directly within their existing cloud environments.
Improved MCP Architecture
The MCP tool architecture has also been redesigned.
Enterprise clients can now deploy custom MCP tools in isolated environments dedicated to their organization. This allows companies to build tools that connect to internal systems while keeping them fully separated from other Nexus users.
We have also removed support for Smithery. Going forward we will introduce a more flexible system where MCP tools from any provider can be easily added to AI agents within Nexus.
Action Required for External Data Connectors
Because of the migration from AWS to GCP and updates to encryption, users with external data connectors need to perform a quick update.
Please review each connector and follow these steps:
Open the connector settings
Click edit
Re enter the password and/or secret
Save the connector
No other changes are required.
What is Coming Next
We are already working on the next set of features for Nexus.
Upcoming updates include built in BI dashboards and LinkedIn scraping capabilities. These features will further expand how teams can analyze and enrich their data directly inside Nexus.
Happy testing and stay tuned for more exciting updates coming soon.
